Where to meet and launch points
Orca Camp tours pick up guests at 9:00 am on your departure date at the ferry dock in Campbell River [look for Discovery Launch Water Taxi] and 9:10 am at the Gowlland Harbour Resort on Quadra Island. They will bring you to our outdoor adventure camp.
Kayak Tours in the Discovery Islands, Desolation Sound, and Custom kayak tours require guests to arrive at 9:00 am at our shop at 685 Heriot Bay Road, Quadra Island located just minutes from the ferry terminal.
Getting to Campbell River, BC
- By Air
Campbell River Regional Airport (YBL) is an approximate 40 minute flight from Vancouver (YVR). Airlines with service to Campbell River include Pacific Coastal Airlines and Central Mountain Air
- By Car (Nanaimo Route from Vancouver)
Travel time: 2 hours (not including ferry crossing)
Take the Horseshoe Bay BC Ferry to Departure Bay, Nanaimo (reservations recommended) Take Highway 19 North to Campbell River (95 miles [153 km])
- By Car (Victoria Route from Seattle/Port Angeles)
Travel time: 3 hours and 20 minutes from Seattle (not including ferry)
Take the Port Angeles Ferry to Victoria (reservations recommended), Take Highway 19 North to Campbell River (166 miles [265 km]) Travel from Campbell River to Quadra Island
- From Campbell River to Quadra Island (by Foot or Car)
Travel time: Quadra Island is a quick 10 minute ferry ride from Campbell River. Highway 19 leads you to the ferry terminal in Campbell River

Planning your trip home
While you are unlikely to want to leave after experiencing all the adventure and beauty the west coast has to offer, for those that do have to return home, all trips return back to Quadra Island or Campbell River by approximately 3:00 pm on the final day of your trip. We’ll miss you when you go, but remember you are always welcome to come back and visit us again!
