This exciting adventure includes 2 nights at a boutique Quadra Island resort, an exhilarating Whale Watching Tour and 4 days Kayaking in the Discovery Islands.
Included in National Geographic Canada’s 50 Places of a Lifetime, the Discovery Islands are a kayaker and wilderness lover’s paradise.
One of the West Coast’s best kept secrets. Wildlife is in abundance as the Islands and the surrounding ocean are home to whales, dolphins, sea lions, and some of the largest starfish in the world.
Taking a trip with Wildcoast is a “have to do” if you are on Quadra Island and like nature and adventure. You get an awesome kayak tour (possible even if you have no experience just like me) with amazing wildlife/landscape, camping in the wild (and delicious meals)

Day 2: Whale Watching Adventure
This tour is one of the most spectacular whale watching and wildlife tours in the world. Enjoy the feeling of wonder and connection as the boat enters into Prime Killer Whale territory.
You will have the opportunity to listen to the sounds of the whale calls through underwater microphones. Be sure to have your camera ready as the whales often spyhop and breach without warning. Killer whales aren’t the only attraction: humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals and other wildlife are also abundant in this region.
A delicious lunch is included with the tour.
Day 3-6: Sea Kayaking Adventure
On Day 3, get set to spend the rest of your time immersed in the wilderness. With your experienced guides, you will being your kayaking adventure launching from Quadra Island’s beautiful Rebecca Spit.
From here you will explore some of the many islands scattered in the Discovery Passage between Vancouver Island and the mainland in British Columbia.
“Did Discovery Islands trip at the end of August. The best long term kayak trip I’ve ever done! Food was excellent,, camping spots were awesome, and the kayaking was great.”
During your time on the water paddling from campsite to campsite, you will explore the myriad of channels, bays, coves, and islets in this vast wilderness and hike through the ancient forest to hidden lakes to relax on secluded sand beaches.
