The
itinerary of this trip can be customized, for
example sea kayaking only, kayak and hike etc,
any combination is possible.....A day of Orca
and Grizzly bear viewing (day tours by powerboat,
seasonal) can be added to your package at additional
charge.
Where the ice covered peaks of majestic glaciers
reflect their beauty in the emerald Pacific Ocean
and where the waters are clearer than anywhere else,
there are the Discovery Islands. Rich in natural
beauty and native history, the islands have been
the home of Native People since thousands of years.
With our sea kayaks, we retrace their ancient routes,
and when we hike through the wonder world of the
northern rain forests we discover the secrets of
the healing and edible plants.

Trip itinerary:
Arrival day:
Arrival at the Coastal Spirits Lodge. On the 15
minute ferry ride from Campbell River to Quadra
Island, look for sea lions and pods of orcas and
other whales.
Day 1: A beautiful day of ocean
paddling. Kayak introduction and safety procedures
in the calm and protected lagoon of Rebecca Spit
Provincial Park. Gorgeous views towards the Coast
Mountains and Discovery Islands and the variety
of wildlife highlight this day: Bald Eagles, seals,
sea lions, 10 different species of colorful starfish
including some of the largest starfish in the
world, sea and shore birds and so much more. Swim
in the emerald clear ocean and snorkel with the
seals.
Day 2:
Hike Quadra Islands magnicent rain forest: Interpretive
rain forest hike on well maintained rain forest
trails. Learn about the secrets of our edible
and healing plants and the magic and importance
of the red cedar tree within the lives of the
coast native people. Most of our hiking tours
lead to remote lakes in the forest, great for
swimming and relaxing on the beach. Some hikes
also feature spectacular view points across the
ocean, islands and mountains. On these hikes we
brew our own delicous teas with forest plants.
Day 3:
Another day of spectacular sea kayaking in a completely
different location: Small Inlet Provincial Park
in Quadra Islands remote North.
Highlights of todays paddle are the sheltered
crystal clear lagoons of this beautiful Park,
the gorgeous scenery, the wildlife and the ancient
native middens. After some great paddling we reach
the end of the Fjord, and we begin our hike on
beautiful trails through the dense rain forest.
The trees and forest floor are covered in moss
and ferns.
We cross several creeks and enjoy the small waterfall
on the way to a remote crystal clear lake, known
for its spectacular blue colour, a great place
for our picnic and swim.
After relaxing on the lake and more ocean kayaking
we return home to the lodge.
Day 4: Today we paddle Quadra
Island's Chain of Lakes Provincial Park, the largest
fresh water system of the Gulf Islands. Gorgeous
large and small lakes, all connected by natural
channels, offer crystal clear warm water, sandy
beaches, great for a picnic and swimming and a
rain forest hike from the lakes to the ocean.
Day 5:
Departure and check-out at lodge. End of a memorable
journey. If you enjoy mother nature as much as
we do you will love this tour.

a comprensive info package, including maps,
equipment list, waiver, medical forms etc.

Add 5% tax (foreign visitors can apply for
a 50% visitor tax refund)
Deposit:
$150.00 CDN plus 5% tax
In order to confirm your reservation, Coastal
Spirits must receive your deposit. We accept
Visa, MasterCard, personal cheques in CAN
and US funds
The balance of your payment is due 60 days
prior to departure. If the payment is not
paid when due, Coastal Spirits reserves the
right to treat the reservation as cancelled.
