OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
THE SAFETY AND WELLBEING OF OUR GUESTS AND EMPLOYEES IS OUR TOP PRIORITY
As you can imagine, given the impact of the coronavirus worldwide Wildcoast did an in-depth review of how to safely operate our trips in 2020. Safety has always been our top priority, and while we are all keen to get out into the wild, we wanted to make sure that we could do so responsibly.
We are proud to report that for the 2020 season, we hosted over 150 guests on a combination of day tours, rentals, and multi-day expeditions and our COVID-19 mitigation approach was a success. To our knowledge none of our staff nor guests contracted the Coronavirus on our trips.
This experience bodes well for our upcoming 2021 season and we look forward to getting adventurers like you out onto the water for a wilderness escape.
All dates for 2021 are now available for booking. Please note that many of our guests that originally planned to join an adventure in 2020 moved their trips to 2021. If you are thinking about a 2021 adventure, we strongly recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
Currently, recreational travel is allowed throughout the province for residents of Canada. While travel may continue to be impacted in 2021, given that vaccines are rolling out and testing protocols continue to improve, we are optimistic that International Guests will be welcomed back into Canada this year.
If you are not sure yet about travelling in 2021, but would like to be added to our notification list regarding trip availability as spots fill up, please contact us at [email protected]
Wildcoast Adventures standard cancellation and rebooking policies apply to all trips. Should you need to cancel outside of these parameters, you will need to contact your insurance company for reimbursement and the amount of your reimbursement will depend upon the insurance you purchased.
As part of planning your adventure with us, we strongly recommend you purchase “Cancel for any Reason” Travel Insurance (CFAR). In the ever-changing world of COVID-19 where national, state and local regulations are unpredictable, this insurance protects you.
Before purchasing your insurance package ensure it covers all of the areas you would like it to mitigate both for you and the other members of your party. For example, as many travelers discovered this past year, it is unlikely that your credit card travel insurance includes coverage due to pandemics. Also, note that travel insurance policies require that you purchase the insurance in a timely manner, typically between 72 hours – 21 days of paying for your adventure. Below are some options to get you started.
Cancel for any Reason Travel Insurance Policies for Canadians
Manulife (must be purchased within 72 hours trip booking)
Cancel for any Reason Policies for US Travellers
John Hancock – Gold (75% CFAR)
Cancel for any Reason Policies for European Travellers

Covid-19 Operating Protocols
Wildcoast has worked with several other kayaking companies in our region to discuss how to safely operate kayaking trips in light of the Covid-19 situation. See what we have being doing differently by reviewing our Covid-19 Operating Protocols.
As part of these changes, in addition to Wildcoast’s Waiver, all guests are required to review and sign a Covid “Statement of Understanding”. Please note, the “Statement of Understanding” reflects the current conditions imposed by the Government of Canada. This document will be updated as travel and quarantine requirements are revised leading up to the summer of 2021.
Our Ongoing Commitment
In order to limit the impact of the virus and ensure the safety of our guests and our staff, Wildcoast is continuing to follow all provincial health recommendations. As we move forward, we will continue to follow the guidelines set out by BC Centre for Disease Control, WorksafeBC and the Tourism Industry Association of BC to protect our community, our guests, and our front line staff.
The steps we are taking means Wildcoast Adventures is a “SafeTravel” destination as classified by the World Travel & Tourism Council.
The ‘Safe Travels Stamp’ is an international designation that provides travellers and other travel and tourism stakeholders to recognize destinations and tourism businesses that have implemented health and hygiene protocols that are aligned with WTTC’s Safe Travels Protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.
